Walsh strikes again on George
Sylvan has the right Approach
He's had plenty of leg trouble, and the owners have been very patient. I always felt there was a couple of wins in him and thank god he's proved me right. He's a good ground horse and from a good jumping family that includes Feathered Leader. We should have plenty of fun with him now providing he stays sound.
Galway next for Devils Bit
He did it well, although they didn't go too fast and a stronger pace would have suited my fella. I thought there would have been more of an ease in the ground with all the rain around. He'll go for the four-year-old novice hurdle on the first day at Galway. He's still an entire and I'd be a bit worried that he might boil over some day.
Bachelor at the head of affairs
We have been waiting on that good ground for a while. It's the first time he's had his ground all season. He'll probably go to Galway now, and may go back for a chase at some stage as he's well handicapped over fences. He earns his oats every year.
Taffy easily completes hat-trick
He enjoys good ground but I thought Admiral Barry would be a tough one to take on. Before we decide anything we'll take him home and make sure he's okay. We'll then make plans for him in a week or two. He could go for a mile and six furlongs race on the Flat.
Tavern opens hurdle account
Davy said he wants a bit further. It looked that way today, although it's a bit of a surprise to me. His class won out in the end, and any less of a horse wouldn't have won as the runner-up had a right go at him. He'll go novice hurdling now rather than handicapping.
Codd has the last laugh
I was always fond of him but he lost his way a bit. He'll jump hurdles now and might go to Galway.
