It was a ding dong battle between two top men and there was no quarter given. She jumped fantastic during the week and again today. I was more confident early in the week but the ground was terrible today and she will be better on better ground. She will be entered in the Grade 1 at Fairyhouse and then Punchestown as well.
Unoccupied defeats Byrnes gamble
he's in at Mallow (Cork) on Thursday in a handicap hurdle and his 4lbs penalty for winning here will leave him just one pound out of the handicap. Provided he comes out of this race well, he'll go there next.
Vic makes the long journey worthwhile
The plan was to run in this race after she won her beginners chase. She jumped well and had no problem stepping up to three miles. She probably needs three miles even though she is only a six year old. Fairyhouse is only two weeks away and that might be a bit sharp for her. It took five hours to get down here and she was fed at 4am this morning.
O'Sullivan is The Man with third winner
it was a funny sort of race. There was no pace and Andrew had to do all the donkey-work in front although he (He's Our Man) would have been much better off with a lead.

I have four in training and it's great to get one like him. I decided to go for this winners bumper with him because of the extra three furlongs. My only worry was the ground as it can get very deep here. The first day he ran we thought he would run very well but we were disappointed to be beaten by an outsider there.
