Well backed Liberty's takes Sligo opener
Mick dictated it from the first. He gave him a breather and I thought at the time it was the wrong thing to do but he was right. I don't know where he will go now. I was going to wait for the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel but Galway is a small possibility now or maybe a run on the flat. He might go for the 4yo Hurdle on the first day of Galway. He is probably better going left handed and on good ground.
Galway next up for useful Colah
He tanks all the time in front and he needs to switch off a bit. If he settled better he would stay further. He is fine as long as he keeps winning over two miles. He hung left a bit and I thought he had fluffed his chance at the last. Galway is next up for him, ground permitting. He will go the winner novice hurdle on the Tuesday.
In-foal Rose continues to bloom
This is a lucky track for us here. We were putting her win at Bellewstown down to the testing ground but she did it really well today. We have around two and a half to three weeks left with her (before she has to stop racing due to her pregnancy) and we will try and find another race for her. She is very well rated on the flat and she might have a run on the level. She jumped fantastic and Mikey gave her a great ride.
Zuzka eases to maiden hurdle success
Sales bound Frankie scores at Sligo
Frankie Flowers was probably running out of petrol in the closing stages but the plan wasn't to make the running. We were going to ride him 'handy' but the runners split early and Brian left him bowl along. He is entered in the Doncaster August Sales and is a grand, big, good looking type - he'll make a grand summer chaser in time.
Harangue gets Hanlon off the cold list
That's the first time he has got half decent ground and the better ground improved him. Like most of mine they all want good ground. He is entered in Killarney next week and he will run there if the weather picks up.
Favourite Bondage survives Enquiry
The ground was probably a bit dead for him today as he needs quick ground. He is entered at Killarney next week and he will probably run there.
Mulholland & Dowdall combine with Partisan
That's my first winner in Ireland and it's my second season training here. I used to train in the UK in Thirsk and I had a couple of winners at York. I have fifteen horses in training at the moment and I've had a few places but no winners.
