Magical Mullins steels Navan's opener
Danny is brilliant, he's a top-class young man and brings a bit of fun, and everything, to our place - he's my Ruby Walsh! . He knows all those horses so well and it's a huge advantage. He's done schooling and knows everyone of them. He has a great knowledge of my horses and I knew when he was so far clear he’d know exactly how much he had left; they let him go a little bit too. he has a lovely chase mark of 124 and should get in to the Troytown, so I’d say we'll have a go at that; he’ll love the trip as he stays real well. He's a different horse all together going left-handed and doesn't even want to start going right-handed. He had a nice mark there off 107 (over hurdles) and it was there to be collected at some stage, on a going day.
Mengli enters Cheltenham picture with G3 win
I think he's a good horse,. He was good there and I'd say he'll go for the Royal Bond next. He's a two-miler and has got loads of boot and I'd say a better race might suit him better. Jack (Kennedy) said they didn't go quick enough but anyway he was grand.
'Pointer' gives Team Giggs a Graded treble
I’d be surprised (if either of his two runners won, including well beaten The Game Changer) and I was half-thinking of going point to pointing with Clarcam but the entries are small here so I entered him and that tells it’s own story!
Champion H'dle 4th wins well on chase debut
it was a good performance; he is a very natural jumper at home and he did the same here. He's as good as novice as I've seen schooling at home and I thought it was a good performance for a first time out novice. I'd imagine we'll look at the Drinmore; the way he was going there I'd be happy to stick at two miles but the Drinmore is two-and-a-half so we'll look at that. He has no problem going two-and-a-half as he was a two-and-a-half mile hurdler. He is so well balanced jumping and is a complete natural.
Father Ted & daughter Katie score with Oscars
he's not getting any younger but he's a lovely horse and I'm delighted for the owners (Zorka Wentworth) more so than anything else. He's had his problems but he ran well with me in Tipperary and ran over two-and-a-half in Punchestown the last day in a competitive race and we thought maybe two back around here might suit him. It's all paid off - it wasn't a great race, and he won by a length-and-three-quarters, but it happened today so it's great. We'll take every day as it comes with him and see. It's a small team and we also had a point-to-point winner today (Batcio at Ballinaboola) so that's lovely and that would do any Sunday.
Elliott & Giggs'town complete Navan 4-timer
he's a nice horse who doesn't show us much at home but he's a big honest galloping horse. He won't do much more this year and I don't know if I'll even run him in another bumper - maybe I will, but he won't do much more. He's a big stayer and Lisa said he didn't really know what to do and when he got there he was green, but he's a nice horse.
