Blinkers do the trick for Piece Of Paradise
The blinkers were a big help. She was backing off the gate on her first couple of runs and the blinkers just concentrated her a bit. We thought she'd win the last twice and hopefully she can build on this. She handled the ground but came down the ambulance track so to say she wants soft ground might be a stretch of the imagination. I might enter her in the Listed race at the Curragh on Friday. She gets five well and might get six. It is not easy for those fillies to carry top weight in those auction races and she's after winning now which is the main thing.
The Peckhampouncer delivers at Tipperary
He was running well in good maidens and a winners’ race the last day. Robbie said he loved the ground, travelled well but just idled when he hit the front,. We didn’t plan for anything after today, but Colin Keane rode him the last day and said he might be one for the Birdcatcher later on the year, so we might keep it in mind. So long as there’s soft ground, we’ll keep going, but if it dries up, he might have a break. Robbie rides him work all the time and knows him well, so he didn’t need much instructions. He’s a big horse and will probably be a better three-year-old. It’s great for Keith Cooper and my wife, Roz, who do all the work at home. I have only five horses in at the minute. I ride out in the morning at Gordon Elliott’s and do my horses in the afternoon. We had 30 or 35 horses, but I don’t really want any more, to be honest. We’re keeping it small and trying to keep the show on the road, keep it small and keep costs down.
Hathiq returns to winning ways as connections eye Group 1 race
it is great to have him back as we found a few issues with him and probably shouldn't have went to Epsom or the Rockingham. We found a few issues after, nothing major, and the boys had a few quid on him this morning so it is great. He'll come back here for a Listed race at the end of the month and he also holds an entry for the Group 1 Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh. If he won the Listed race it would be an option and the Group 1 often cuts into a small field and the lads picked it out. He deserves to hold an entry and you have to be in to win. It's good to have a win for the boys again as we have had a load of horses placed without winning and this winner keeps the show on the road.
Justifier makes a great weekend better for Lyons team
Colin said he is still green and handled the ground and will get a furlong extra no problem,. We do like him, we thought he had to run to 95 today to win and he did. He has done what we've asked him there and will genuinely improve for stepping up and he is ticking all the right boxes at the minute. It is five weeks to the Juvenile Stakes on Champions Weekend but we'll run wherever the race presents itself.

The ground is key to her as she needs soft or heavy so we were praying for rain and we got plenty of it. Off her mark of 60 we thought she would be good enough for a race like this but she is ground dependent,. They went quick but she stays well and there might be another race for her on the flat. She is 110 over hurdles and we have plenty of options going forward. Aine is a good asset in the race like that as well.
