Gale out battles Leitir to take Curragh opener
We are delighted. The ground was a big worry and I'm pleasantly surprised he went on it. We always thought he was a fast horse. When our horses met the soft ground at Leopardstown on Friday you saw what happened (put in disappointing performances). We think he might be a Royal Ascot horse and we will look at the Windsor Palace or Norfolk Stakes now.
Alsium holds off gambled on Cape
She is a well bred filly. Mr Higgins (the winning owner) has been very patient. She is not over big and she needed a bit of time. She will be better next year. The ground was soft enough for her and when she got to the front she pricked her ears. She had a nice first run at Dundalk and she strengthened and sharpened up for that. She is going the right way. She got a little hot at the start but she was professional during the race and I hope there is more to come. We won't be afraid to drop her back to five furlongs but we will see how she takes this race and she how she is on physically and mentally.
Kateeva stays on best to score for Fogarty
It's good to win a competitive race here. A winner here is worth any money for breeding and whatever. The ground was right for her, it was too firm in Tipperary but this was just right as she likes a cut. The ground will dictate where she goes now.
Sharestan has to battle for Silver Stakes success
It was testing and the ground was very gluey in the straight. That was probably the limit of his stamina and he is probably better coming back in trip. He was suited by the slow fractions and he managed to grind it out. When he ran against Famous Name he handled the good ground well, so he is versatile and he proved me wrong. He wouldn't run over 1m 2f on testing ground again he wants good ground. Off his rating of 108 he was entitled to do that but he didn't do anything spectacular. I'd like to think he is still capable of better but he has to prove it. We might try him in the Group 3, International Stakes over a mile and two or there is a Listed race over a mile for him as well.
Vedani provides Oxx & Aga Khan with double
He stayed on well and got through the ground. He will like a mile and a half and a bit better ground. Both horses ran well. We will get a handicap mark for him (the winner) now and see where we will go.
Ursa eases to victory as Curtis doubles up
Livia takes the last for Bolger & Cleary
Little fish are sweet. Let's hope she gets another chance. She appears to stay well and will go for another handicap now.
