You'll Be Mine wins opener
She was still babyish. We'll go for the Fillies Mile or the Prix Marcel Boussac now. She'll have no problem stepping up in trip and after she ran the last day she looked like she'd progress well. The ground is beautiful, as good as I've seen it all year.
Poet makes it two for O'Brien/Murtagh
We were obviously a bit worried coming back that quick after winning under top-weight in heavy ground last week. He has a high cruising speed and he has obviously progressed very well. The ground was very different to the Curragh but he is a good moving horse and he should have no problem stepping up again. There is a Group 2 over a mile and one on Arc weekend, I'm not sure if he's in it but he could go there.
Rainbow Lands Matron in Style
Her work has been good and she seemed to be in good form but it has been my experience of training mares that they only come good late in the year. Her form was nice and she has a number of options now. She could go for the E P Taylor Stakes at Woodbine or the Prix de l'Opera at Longchamp. She could run at the Breeders Cup too where she has a few options. It is entirely up to the owner as to whether she'll race on next year, I can see no reason why she can't.
City does it again at Leopardstown
My father is playing golf in Portugal. He got the days mixed up and thought it was on tomorrow, like last year. This horse won this race four years ago, he is a classy type but he has got older and wiser. Pat said afterwards that they went very fast and he thought that they couldn't sustain that gallop. The ground was ideal for him and we'll try to find a similar handicap for him now.
Stars Lights Up Leopardstown
He is thriving, he is in great form and he came out of York in great form. I was disappointed to have to miss the Irish Derby and it would have been very disappointing to miss this but the ground here was fine.
Les Fazzani another for Carroll
Chabal makes good debut
He is a very nice two-year-old and he is a horse with a future. He very slightly tweaked a muscle when he was cast in his box and had to miss a maiden on Derby weekend. He was a little raw still and he is not certain to run again this year but we'll see how he is in a few weeks.
Murtagh Completes Treble on Via Con Dios
We'll keep him handicapping. Johnny said he is improving. A mile and one on softish ground is far enough for him, he just got found out over a furlong further last time. Ground dependent we'll step him back up to the same trip at the Curragh at the next meeting.
