On The Go Again justifies Mulvany belief
I made a statement earlier on in the year and said I thought this was the best horse I've ever had. Rachael said he hated the ground. I entered him last time in the Grade 1 at Leopardstown and they all thought I was cracked!. You haven't seen the best of him yet. He's a big 17 hands horse and he has a real turn of pace when you see him on good ground. We don't know where we are going now and as I said we probably spoiled his novice year. He's so well related. His mother is a three-parts sister to Voler La Vedette, and his grand-dam was Bolino Star so he's bred for this game. The only reason he ran on the Flat was because he was so hard to break and we decided we'd keep him going once we had him broke. We'll take our time now and pick a nice race. He was just grinding it out there today but he is a really nice horse. I worked him the other day with a 90-rated Flat horse and he made him look like a bad horse. All along I've been saying this is the real machine.

He was second and third in two point-to-points and he loves this ground. We bought him for Tony (McLoughlin) this time last year and thank god he's won for him. He's over from New York and that's his first ever winner. He's crying out for a fence and next year we'll go chasing. We'll find something similar for him again.

He belongs to a team of legal eagles of judges and barristers. Judge Ray Groake is the head of it and others include Judges Leonie Reynolds and Tony Hunt. It's great to get the horse to win for them and hopefully he'll come on from it. He's had a tough race there so we'll probably wait to run in a novice handicap chase at Fairyhouse at the beginning of April. I was worried about the ground so it was a great relief and it opens the door for the future. I thought he was more of a better ground horse. He jumps well and he's got a good attitude so he should give them a bit of fun.
Blackmore stars with 49/1 double at Navan
I'm very happy to ride a winner for Gigginstown as they've given me plenty of opportunities. The luck is with me today. It's good to see him back. All he does is stay, and it's good to get winners at this time of the season.
Laverteen takes the bumper for Meade/Benson
He was good and maybe better than we thought but we did think he'd win a bumper. He had a few problems with his knees and things like that. I had to sit back here the last day because the other horse of Gordon's ran (Poli Roi). When it came to Friday he (Eddie O'Leary) said 'we have a few more' but I said 'it's my turn'. He said to me 'will you win' and I said 'I think he has a great chance but I can't say he'll definitely win'. So he decided to run the two of them. I'd say he's a nice horse. He won't run over hurdles this season as I'd imagine we'll keep him a novice. He just hasn't been that easy to train and I'd say he wants that really soft ground.
