Mullins/Walsh win Fairyhouse opener
Texas Jack ends three year losing spell
he's come down a lot in the weights but he's never won over further than two and a half miles before today (3m1f). He's been running in Graded races all the time and the drop down in class helped him and it's lovely to see him win. He was actually sold to go point-to-pointing to England but the vet wasn’t happy with him!. he’ll get an entry in the Irish National, and could go next for the Leinster National at Naas - he wants really soft ground.
Paper Lantern gains first racecourse win
he stuck at it well and didn't want to be second again! He seemed to love the ground and the big galloping track. He's had bits of problems and we gave him a break and he's in again at Thurles on Thursday and will either go there, or for an opportunity race at Leopardstown in March.
Shattered Love wins dramatic Grade 3 feature
we were fortunate that Willie's horse fell at the last and we had a bit of luck on our side, but we know she stays. A step up in trip would be no bother to her. I'll have to talk to Eddie and Michael (O’Leary) to decide where she goes next. The mares novice race at Cheltenham could be a a bit short for her.
Mullins & Walsh complete F'house double
he worked very well last season but disappointed when we brought him to Newbury for a bumper. We had thought he could run in a Cheltenham bumper as he was working so well at home. He then fell over hurdles and we put him away and he’s come back more like the horse he was showing us last year - maybe he just needed a summer's grass. That was a fantastic performance and I'm not sure where he'll go - we'll see how he comes out of this first.
Nicole's Milan claims 2nd F'house win of 2017
Fayonagh takes flight in Fairyhouse finale
she's a fair mare and she galloped them into the ground. She won a schooling bumper here by 20 lengths a couple of weeks ago and she jumps brilliant as well - she has her black type now.
