Priest provides salvation for Listowel punters
she is a filly that is in a hurry in the preliminaries and in the aftermath but relaxes better in her races. She is improving all the time and we like her. That was a goodish maiden and the form was holding up.
Carroll completes quick opening race double at Listowel
his owner Eleanora Kennedy came in from New York to see this horse run but he is a horse who had been driving us mad and frustrating us. We've got trips to Royal Ascot and Bahrain last winter with him so he has been a great fun horse although we were probably ceding to that. At Naas the last day Dylan Browne McMonagle rode him and suggested he should run on a bend, as a straight track doesn't suit. He said a bend would trick him and keep his mind occupied. He jumped and travelled really well today and loved it in front. We'll look for another race like this and we have a very very happy owner so I'm delighted. Eleanora had a winner for us with Cush at Gowran in the past, it's her first time in Listowel and this is great.
Dias enjoys another 'great day' with Winemaker
that's my first winner and my second runner and my other runner finished second last week. I received my license a month ago and have been in Ireland for 20 years, doing breeze-up horses. It was a good feeling and nice to have the first winner. this is only a Plan B for horses which don't sell at the breeze-ups and it gives them another chance. I bought this horse and he won first-time up when Jimmy Coogan trained him for me. I am from Minas Gerais (population 22m) in Brazil, rode there and also rode a couple of winners in Ireland. I have six horses which didn't sell at the breeze-ups to run on the track and this horse is for sale so I've no plan in mind - we'll will see how he is.
Satin continues winning run of Whelan and Harrington
. Whatever she did today was a bonus as I don't think the track saw her to best effect as she is a big filly. When she gets to a more convenient track it'll suit better and she is a typical one by Australia and galloped out to the line. I'm very grateful for the chances and to everybody who fills me in on these horses.

Drop The Dip lands Listowel gamble
it is job done and we're delighted. It was a low graded race and she had come into a bit of form at home recently and Tom was hoping with the improvement in the ground that she might just win. She liked the ground, it was nice and safe and it was straightforward. We have a few horses and are selling and breeding horses. She was a cheap purchase (E3,000) and a Swedish girl in my yard bred her. She was always a nice big type and this is a grade below where we'd like to be but maybe she is on the up, as she is a big weak filly.
