That was great. He had lost his form a little bit and it's great to see him back. Brian was brilliant on him. I'm delighted for the lads, Johnny, Paddy and Willie. He jumped unreal. Brian said he thought he was beaten coming to the last and he said the leap he put in there was brilliant and winged it. He won at Leopardstown last year and he'll be a couple of pounds higher now but it's a very valuable pot. We're delighted to win today.

They went hard and that suited him because he stays really well. They went slow and then quickened up in Navan and left him for dead. He came home well enough. That was probably a good run because it was a good race, a much better race than this. Funnily enough this has been a lucky race for me, I think we've won it three or four times. He's a chaser in the making. His owner decided to bring the kids to the rugby instead of the races but I'm sure he'll get a good kick out of it anyway. He wouldn't be a winter horse and after Navan I sort of threatened that we'd give up but then the weather stayed right. I suppose we might try and run him at Leopardstown over Christmas.
Farmers Lodge scores for Connell and Flanagan
It doesn't always work but he was 130 over fences and won his beginners chase here. He's had a few issues and hasn't been straightforward to train. If you go back and look at his two runs in Thurles, he was fourth to Daddy Long Legs and Asian Master. 113 looked a nice mark over hurdles but it doesn't always work out. We schooled him during the week and he wasn't spending any time in the air, he was very slick. We have options and we'll probably keep him over hurdles for the time being. He's obviously going to go up for that. He won his beginners on heavy ground and is after winning there on good ground so he seems to be ground versatile. He was working well at home. It was a one horse market but when they are off the track for that long it's very pleasing to see him go and do it. I'm not sure if there is anything for him in Leopardstown but we'll find somewhere for him.
