Zone strikes on first run for Lyons
My initial reaction was that we got it but then when I looked at it again I thought they had nabbed us,. He's been showing plenty and I thought he'd want anywhere from six to seven. I thought that whoever beats him would win today. He's only been on the all-weather for us so I didn't know about ground but he's very very straight-forward at home and I thought that this was a good start for his career. We'll have to see where we go now and if he progresses. His work at home is very behind the bridle and I thought he ran very keen today — it nearly cost him. Credit to Gaelic Bloodstock as they just keep finding these horses. How I don't know but as long as they keep doing it.
Colours back in winners enclosure in Dash
It was a big enough ask to come back. This time last week he still hadn't run at Ascot and he ran a huge race there,. Donnacha said he jumped and travelled well. He said he moved on him and he thought he was going to go and win well but just in the last 100 yards he's flattened out a bit on him. It was a big run out of him and it was nice prize-money. He'll have a little freshen up now. We've no immediate plans. He has plenty of entries and options. It was nice to get him back winning and now we can come back up in class. The Lennox Stakes is worth a lot of money in Goodwood, that's seven, and then he has a couple of sprints that he has options in.
Celebration for Murphy & Carroll as Rank lunges late
Gary rode a fantastic race because I think the horse is best at a mile-and-two but he was in such rude form on Tuesday we decided to run,. We thought there would be a fast pace in the race and with €75,000 on offer we thought we'd take our chance. The only thing that worried me last night was the way Shekiba ran because she was working very well. I was a little bit disappointed with her last night but fillies can do that at times. This horse showed what he's doing at home and that's why we are here. He likes a box seat and has more gears than you think. He's versatile ground-wise, it's immaterial to him. We had Galway as the plan but that rules that out now. I suppose we'll have to stay Listed now or that calibre and take it from there. Don't be surprised if in a year's time you see him over hurdles as the owners love hurdle racing. I doubt it but we'll see as he's a very versatile horse. He's a horse that performs on the big day and they are the ones you want.
Joseph O'Brien doubles up with Buckhurst
That was lovely and Wayne gave him a lovely ride,. He's a decent horse, we brought him to Ascot last week but we didn't run because the ground was quite soft over there. He loved the bit of good ground today. We'll see how he comes out of the race but we won't be in a rush with him. He didn't run at two and he's had plenty of racing this year so far. He'll step up in trip at some stage, he's an Australia, but he doesn't need to go further yet. He'll go a mile-and-a-half at some stage. He should be a better horse next year. He's still learning and when the horses came around him today he went on again.
Lyons & Keane land brace with Law
It was complete and utter trainer error running him on Sunday. We knew going down the ground wasn't right for him,. I shouldn't have run him but the beautiful thing about having Colin is that he excepted it very early and he basically had a racecourse gallop. He came home and licked the pot. He's a very straight-forward horse and this was too good of a pot not to have a go at. It would have been a gutless move not to have a look at it, if we got beat we got beat. He's a nice horse and he's on the improve. With these Hong Kong horses I could get up in the morning and they could tell me their permit is due and he's gone. I just hope they leave them with me for another year. I lost Mackqeez the other day and California Daddy. It's a high-class problem though and you have to take the good with the bad.
Siskin so good in Railway
First and foremost it's a huge result to be training for these people in the first place. To get a good one so early in our career with them is a bonus. Credit to them because they let me do what I wanted to do with him. I didn't want to go to Ascot, I could have been rushed into that, but they let me do what I wanted. I'm just one of those lucky lads because things are falling together for us. We have the best jockey in the country riding for us and Juddmonte are on the team now. Even if they try not to give me a good horse I'm going to get a good horse!. My job is to just use the experience we've had in 20 years looking for these horses. We should know what we're doing at this stage and it's nice to have one.
