Elliott registers '1-2-2' as Floueur fluffs final fence
Sil Ver Klass gets off the mark over fences
he’s been an unlucky horse and has been second a lot of times. He’s had a few hard luck stories. He’s had a few niggles but we’re back motoring well now and he jumped well today.
Frankie follows up at Fairyhouse
he’s a big raw frame and wasn’t right last year and seems to be going the right way. He could come back here in two weeks time for a hurdle and we’ll mix it between hurdles and fences.
Mullins mares to go 'same direction' at Cheltenham
she (Allegorie De Vassy) did it well and I think she’s going to improve again. The jump she threw at the last showed what she had left in the locker. I’d imagine she’ll go straight to Cheltenham now.
'Time bomb' Ha D'or continues Ricci's roll
Paul said it was like being on a time bomb, you’re just waiting for it to go off! . He did that very well. He looked a bit green but his jumping was very sharp. I was very pleased with how he jumped considering the speed he was going over some of those hurdles and if he can transfer that to fences next year he might be an exciting two-miler. He’ll go on to the spring Festivals. I’ll have a word with connections before deciding where we go.
Compensation for Flame Bearer
he’s a horse we’ve always thought the world of and it’s just taken a few runs for him to get it together over hurdles. He settled well today and his jumping was brilliant.
L'yser scores for Connell & McInerney
these unplaced maidens give a horse like him a good opportunity as this time of the year you are probably coming up against Graded horses in maidens. He’d a couple of nice runs in maidens and the step up in trip has been a help but he’ll need to smarten up his jumping going into handicap company. He missed the first couple and wasn’t great over the last few either but he has a good engine. Given his size we won’t delay him over hurdles too long — we’ll probably go jumping a fence next year.
Western Zara wins Fairyhouse finale
we thought she was a mudlark but Richie said she pointed her toe there on yielding ground. She got a nice tow into the race and she’s a genuine tough sort that jumps like a buck. We’ll go chasing soon rather than later and hopefully she is one that will improve with a fence as she jumps so well. Anna Scanlon and her husband Eamon are great supporters of the yard and are in Cheltenham today and will have enjoyed that.
