Going - Good To Yielding. Showery
Dragon Roll upsets odds-on fav' in Gowran opener
she was very green. Wayne said she jumped well but she was galloping up in the air. In the straight she was rolling around and all over the place but when she got going on the outside, she flew and hit the line very strongly. He said she'll get further. I hoped she'd run well today but I wasn't really expected her to win. I would love to find a winners of one for her because she was so green today. She's not one you'd be wanting to throw in the deep end yet. It's the first winner in Ireland for American owners Magic Cap Stables. She was bought here at the breeze-ups and is only in training two months.
Authority scores for McCourt & Sheehy
he seems to enjoy being out in front and a bit of ease in the ground was definitely a plus for him as well. Anything softer will be a help to him as well. He's just in a good vein of form at the minute and if he doesn't get too much for that there might be another one in him. I had thought about going to Galway but he wasn't high enough. We'll look at what's coming up. He won in heavy in Listowel and down the road he'll be going back down there.
Five-timer 'mugged' by Check Your Pockets
it's good to see Roscommon out the door anyway. I was very disappointed with her there. I don't know if she was in season, we never found out, but it wasn't her run. She likes racing and likes to come from behind.
Donnacha moves seven clear of Champion Keane
she had a good run the last day. She's still a big, raw mare and she's improving away. She did it nicely. She's straight-forward, uncomplicated, so there was no point getting her in behind them so I kept it simple on her, kept her out on some fresh ground, and she did it nicely.
Hogan's winner Nulife on the long list for Galway
Lordan completes Gowran double
I hadn't ridden him before but Henry said he was in great form. He said keep it simple and ride him up forward. He kept going well and handled the ground well. He seems to enjoy this place as he's run well here before.
Galway plan shelved for Harrington's second winner
he's a horse that got injured as a yearling. He came to me and had one run early on when he finished third and was very slowly away and very green. I've just been waiting and waiting for ground for him because he needs a bit of juice in it and all the time he's had has stood to him. He was to go to Galway for a maiden but he's broken it here and he's a nice horse going forward and we'll see what mark he gets now.
