Sizing Australia gets back to winning ways
it's great to get a win here at the Festival (his first this week) but unfortunately Alan and Ann (Potts, owners) are not here but I'm delighted for the horse as he always runs well in these races. It's great to see him doing this as an 11 year old just as Sizing Europe. Andrew (Lynch) gave him a super ride and we've knocked a lot of fun out of Sizing Australia at these Festivals and hopefully he'll keep going for a while yet!
Outsider of three wins for Lee
we nearly had a winner here on Wednesday (with runner-up Gassin Golf) and if he had jumped the last better, I thought he'd have won too. We came here for the soft ground and he loves it. He's very inexperienced and it's only his third run over fences but I'm proud of the way he jumped and is a credit to my team at home.
Winning spare ride for Walsh
Townend gets his turn on Glens Melody
that was a nice surprise but she's been improving all year. I thought she looked great in the parade ring and she seems to have got stronger since Fairyhouse. She showed a turn of foot today that I didn't think she had but I don't think she'll go chasing as she's a valuable commodity as a broodmare. The owners have a nice breeding operation and she'll be a great addition to their paddocks.
Mullins ends season with yet another record
we said we'd run him today eventhough we didn't think he'd go on the ground.
Martello wins finale for Mags/Patrick Mullins
he won his point to point and is tough, stays and gallops. He'll make a lovely three miles horse and he handles that ground. He should be a nice novice over hurdles next season and will go out to grass now.
