Toorah another for in-form Harty
She has been running some good races and then some terrible races and has been tricky to train, she can be hot and moody, a typical filly!. She has been working really well at home so we are delighted that she transferred it to the track. The last day the ground went too dead on her, it has been hard to get the right ground. She is versatile enough but doesn't like it sticky or heavy like it was at Roscommon. Pat said the ground was a bit dead so it suited her today and we just took a chance. She ran very well in a maiden at Naas and we said if she could reproduce that she would have a right chance. Sometimes handicaps are harder. In an 0-65 she would have a lot of weight and she is not an over big filly, she is rangy but she is only 15.2. I'm delighted for her owner who's from Prosperous. Pat gave her a terrific ride and we will tip away with her now for the summer. She stays well and she might be one to go jumping with later in the year. Her dam was versatile and stayed really well so we will see.
Bogardus continues hot run for Prendergast
It's been a good weekend! With Gary's claim he was 15lb better off with Calorie. That trip was on the sharp side for him and that's why we made all. He is a better horse on the all-weather but listen I'm delighted he broke his maiden. Gary gave him a clever ride and he is full of confidence after riding three winners for John Oxx, and Kevin (Prendergast) rates him well. It's great to have three winners with my last three runners. I've 18 horses in the yard at the moment and how come I'm finding these three runner races and the fellas with 200 horses aren't!. A couple of jump boys are after him, he jumps a pole well but I haven't jumped a hurdle with him yet. He will win on the all-weather and is a better horse on the all-weather according to Gary O'Gorman. I think he is 77 on the all-weather and 70 on turf.

Keatley Flying in the training ranks
It was my own fault the last day in Roscommon as the ground was too quick. It was the wrong track and the wrong trip, it was a few furlongs too short for her but it sharpened her a bit for today. It definitely sharpened her out of the gates, she was a bit sluggish out of the gates in Ayr but she was sharp today so maybe it was a blessing in disguise that we ran her over seven in Roscommon just to teach her the job a bit. She was run off her feet in Roscommon but this is her kind of distance and a little bit of an ease in the ground. Hopefully she'll win another couple of these. She won't go to Galway, we'll let all the big lads go to Galway! We might go to Cork the week after Galway for a mile and a half race. That's my fourth winner overall, I've had two in Ireland and two in the UK.
Welcome winner for McNamara
We were hopeful but she hadn't been running well the last two or three times. We put on the cheek-pieces today and maybe they made the difference. I've five in at the moment and we get a few winners a year. We will keep tipping away with her. She won't go to Galway. We took her there last year and she didn't act on it at all and we were very disappointed. She might go back to Tramore as she won there last year.
Smullen completes 197/1 treble on Tower
The trip suited him and he was given an excellent ride by Pat Smullen. I told Pat that if he got a tune out of him that he would probably draw. I won five races with him before he went to England and he came back to me then around four months ago and it is good to win with him again. We have no immediate plans for him just yet. He might have an entry in Galway for the mile and six handicap next Saturday. It is good to get the win in the week before Galway as I have a couple going there.
