Elliott and Russell team up to land opener
I thought he’d have won two runs ago (unseated rider at the first in Ballinrobe). He still jumped a bit careful but Davy gave him a very good ride. The one thing you would like about him was that he looked beaten and picked up again. He has an engine there somewhere.
Lever Du Soleil rewards Cromwell's decision-making
I had myself under pressure as I didn’t know if I was making the right decision declaring him for today. It was a big ask for a juvenile as he went hard at it last week and got a horrible fall. But he was grand the next morning and was rode out all week and was fine. He’s only a low rated Flat horse but jumping wins it for him. I don’t know where he’ll go from here. It’s very hard for juveniles unless you’re really good.

Lynch seals his Gowran double on Ar Eagla Na Heagla
She was unlucky a few times and probably should have won in Sligo once or twice but she’s had her day now. Tom Richardson from Balbriggan owns her along with my mother June and my wife Paula. Eight Till Late came out of the race in Thurles brilliant. He’s in great order and is bucking. We’ve brought him down to the sea the last few days.
Drumconnor Lad the main man in Gowran Park
We were delighted with his last run and I was glad they re-opened this race. He was in good fettle so we said we’d let him run. There is a nice chase in Navan coming up in a couple of weeks’ time that he’ll go for next, and then we can look at something over Christmas.
Dr Mikey shows promise on his chasing debut
We ran him in a few good hurdle races and he was getting caught for a bit of toe against them on easier tracks. He needs a big galloping track. This is his game now. Andrew Lynch schooled him in Tipperary last week and he was brilliant. I’m delighted every day he stays sound because he had such a bad injury before. I was a bit worried when he didn’t try and kill somebody saddling up! He was quiet in himself, and I was afraid that I’d left him short of work but it worked out. He likes it loose but probably won’t run on very heavy or gluey ground. We’ll find a winners’ race and Donie said he only just stayed that trip. Two miles was his trip over hurdles.
