Mitchouka in rattling good form as he heads for Fred Winter
He's a grand horse and he keeps winning in fairness to him,. I keep knocking him, saying he is what he is, but he's after winning three or four races and if we had a few more like him we'd be alright. He'll go for the Fred Winter now all being well. He'll get to the last on the bridle but I don't know if he'll get up the hill, that would be the worry.
Battling Spirit on the up at the age of 11
Padraig Roche trains his first winner
That was great. Thanks to JP and Frank for giving me the opportunity in my first year. We've always thought he was a nice horse, even when Dad had him. He improved from every run and he seems to be filling out. I was delighted with him there. It''s great to get the first one out of the way. I'm loving it and I'm lucky that Dad's owners left the horses with me and it's great that they gave me the opportunity. Dad is always there for advice. He's busy with his own mares and foals now but anytime I want advice he is always there. I've 15 to 20 horses at the moment and that's my fifth runner.
Bellshill has National options after smooth Bobbyjo win
He's much stronger this year and he's been going nicely at home but on their first run back you never know,. He did it very well. He jumped very well, jumped economically, and came there very strong two from home. He just got a bit idle when he hit the front. I was very happy with him. I think he is in all the big handicaps, the English National, Irish National and at Cheltenham. We'll see where we go now. I'm looking more at the big handicaps with him. Coming back here to Fairyhouse might be the thing to do on a track that he's shown that he's really at home on. The Irish National is early this year and it might be the one.
Cadmium makes it 2 for Mullins uncle & nephew
David gave him a very confident ride. It looked a very fast pace but he jumped immaculately,. The first race you'd think about is the Ryanair Gold Cup here at Easter. We might try and find a novice over two for him before that.
Coal back at scene of career high to land hunter chase
He was very good. He'll not travel over the water and might come back here for Easter and then go to Punchestown,. Jamie thinks he's well up to competing in those now, if the big boys turn up though it could be a different story. He's in the top bracket of what is around at the moment in the hunter chase game. The undulations of Cheltenham and the hype down the start is not his cup of tea. The only couple of times he's disappointed in his life were in big handicaps. We'll try and keep it small and try and get Enda (Bolger) to go somewhere else.
Sometime Soon gives Gigginstown and Elliott a double
He's a nice little horse. He's not a typical Gigginstown horse - a big massive chaser - but we need a few faster ones as well,. He'll probably go for a winners bumper and I think he won't mind a bit of better ground either. He won't be entered for Cheltenham. He's a smart horse and he jumps very well.
