Terrific scores despite market drift
I'm delighted. We put blinkers on her the second time and they really woke her up. We're very happy with her. She is a hardy filly and there is plenty in there. We will step her up now.
Classy Come To Heel lands a gamble
She is a nice filly, she is still very raw. She didn't learn much in Cork but she may have learned a bit more there. She could be a nice filly going forward. I suppose she was probably on the wrong side there as the pace was on the other side. The Cheveley Park (Newmarket 28th September) is the target and I don't know whether she will run between now and then.

Vallado justifies favouritism in the Tatts race
That's nice to get. It's the first I've trained for Andrew Cohen (of Wood Hall Stud), we owned her in partnership with him. That will sort her out today, as she will have learned the game properly. We will probably aim her at the Blenheim or the Park Stakes. Pat said she'll have no problem with seven furlongs so it will be either one or the other.
War Command bounces back in the Futurity
The Ascot horse is back! . The last day I had given him a break after Ascot and he jumped and ran hard, and it caught him out. In the middle of the race he was a bit ring rusty. He was a different horse today, he really quickened up. The last day was trainer error again. I obviously didn't have him sharp or tight enough. I'm very happy with him and he got seven furlongs well. I wanted to bring him back here as maybe he was a bit asleep the last time. If we are going for the National Stakes I'd rather to get a run into him over him going asleep again.
Hayes gets a great tune out of Maddox
He is a bit of a thinker on the job, and when he got into trouble he came back on the bridle. When he switched to the farside he got daylight and he took off. He was very good on his day and I've been trying him over different trips. When he won his claimer he bolted up over six furlongs. I was thinking he'd get seven furlongs or a mile. All the jockeys were saying he wanted seven. We decided to stick the hood on him and try him over six furlongs, and see if it made a difference. When he was third at York it was a proper competitive race but he let us down the next day.
Rock takes the last for Elliott and Harrington
He is just improving a little bit. It's hard on the apprentices just using hands and heels as he is a bit of a lazy horse, but he was good there. I thought he was never going to get there. I'm delighted and we will look for another handicap and we might step him up in trip as he saw that out well. He has enough size to go jumping but we will take it one step at a time.
