Nectaris not for passing in nursery
She's tough, she was a bit free early on but when she got to the front he said she settled great,. When he wanted her at the line she was tough and stayed on very well. He said there is a fierce headwind up the straight. That's it for the year now and we'll keep her for next year. It's great to get two wins out of her.
Masen dominant from the front
It's a job well done. He's a work in progress and hopefully he'll have a nice winter and mature mentally. If he winters well, and there is no reason why he won't fill into a man, we think he is a very good horse. Ger will have a chat with Barry and the Abdullah family and make a plan. Colin thinks the world of him as do we. Every race that he has run in he's shown a bit of class and he's improving with each race. The winter can't come soon enough so he can have down time and mature. We're really looking forward to him next year, we think he's a proper horse in the making over seven or a mile.
Joseph winning on many fronts
That was great, I think the race set up well for her and she enjoys coming through horses,. A few times we've fancied her and she didn't fire and a few times she was unlucky so I think she loved bursting through the horses there today. Dylan gave her a lovely ride and she won well to be fair. Seven on a turn is probably a good trip for her. It was a good performance. It's paid to be on the speed all day but they probably just overdid it a little bit in that race. I don't know if there is something next week for her, I'll have to see, but if there is she'll be out again.
Mulvany's charge off the Cold list
I have him declared for Monday (over hurdles at Wexford) and we have schooled him a little bit. It's the first time all year that the handicapper gave him a little bit of a chance. He definitely is a horse that needs a bit more give in the ground, that's just good out there. I'll have to make up my mind now whether we run on Monday or not but knowing me he probably will. He's a good hardy bit of stuff. He might just need the experience on Monday, we haven't over schooled him but we've schooled him alright because the handicapper wasn't giving him a chance and we said we'd see how we go over hurdles. I think he could make a nice hurdler, he's a good honest horse.
Duke De Sessa takes Eyrefield for Weld & Keane
That was very pleasing. He's a lovely colt, still immature, and he'll make a lovely colt next year. There is lots to look forward to. Hopefully he'll come back for a Guineas trial and I see him potentially as an Irish 2,000 Guineas horse. He just had to wait there obviously to get him out and get him balanced and he came home exceptionally well. He has a lot of pace this horse and the lovely thing about him is that he has pace but he has stamina as well. It was nine furlongs today but he'll be a lovely mile or mile-and-a-quarter horse for next year please God. The National Stakes just came a little bit soon for him and he got struck into which that maybe just didn't help him either. I probably just put him into a Group 1 a little bit quick but Colin looked after him and he learned a lot from that race, we saw that there today. He has a wonderful turn of pace and will be a lovely mile-and-a-quarter horse too. He switched off beautifully today and relaxed beautifully and he has this excellent injection of speed but he's able to carry it over a distance. That's the key to it. Tarnawa has so much pace but she carries it over a mile-and-a-half and this horse has a turn of pace but can carry it over the trip. We had him very well today, mentally he was beautifully relaxed and everything went according to plan.
Tudor City still able to deliver the goods
It's great and he deserved it. He's nine now and has been there every year running well. It's just a pity with covid it was a bit of a mess last year, but he ran well in the Galway Hurdle last year. He has plenty of ability, he was very unlucky one day in that €150,000 race (Northfields Handicap) at the Curragh. He is what he is now but he owes us nothing.
