Blacklough takes to fences well
It's nice to be able to come and win first time out over fences. He had a bit of class over hurdles. He was running in some good handicaps and he was never beaten too far. He did that terribly well and Barry said he's a super jumper. He could have been foolish at a few, but he put himself right and he's clever enough. We weren't able to school him that much because of the hard ground. He'll stay novice chasing. He might have to meet some of the better one, but it's a bit early in the year yet and he might get another one in before they arrive. Two and a half is as far as he would like to go.
Valours Minion has the winning habit now
That's his third win in his last four runs. He started off at Killarney, then Galway and now today. The dry ground has been a big help to him this year. He's in a hurdle race at Ballinrobe on Tuesday, but it might come a bit quick. He was six until he ran and then he was a lot of years getting placed so it's great that he has won three. He travelled well today and he jumped well. There was a bit of trouble at the start. Mark thought it should nearly have been a false start. There was a bit of a collision between a few horses.

He improved a good bit from the last day. He loves that (hurdling), he's a big horse. We were a little bit afraid that the ground might be sticky, but he has run well at the Curragh on that ground. If the weather stays dry we might go again. Davy said he would even jump a fence in time. He's still only four. Davy gave him a great ride. We've about 15 horses and a few more to come in. The Bugler is one to look out for.

Allez Encore shows her fortitude at Listowel
She improved nicely. She has beaten two horses who have beaten her already so she is obviously improving. She is bred to be a chaser. We'll see where we go now.
