Bob Olinger wins well on chase debut
it was some experience. He jumped brilliant, travelled great and it's as good a feeling as I've ever got on the racetrack. It was unreal. He has a serious engine and it was just a privilege to get the ride on him. If you want to be critical of him I suppose you could say that but it's his first run over fences and these take plenty of jumping but overall I thought his jumping was very good and he'll come on plenty from today as well. He has the scope and he won a point-to-point for Pat Doyle. Today was just about getting around, we know he has the engine.
Hamill rides out claim with Gowran win
at long last, as he's a long time trying. It's a while since he won his maiden hurdle and he's found things difficult. He got his day and the conditions of the race suited him. He'll probably go for another handicap now and he's for sale as well.
Bois De Clamart scores for Doyle & Deegan
he had a terrible run in Galway a month ago and I have no explanation for it, he must just have been wrong. I did an onboard scope with him since and it didn't show anything so I said right we'll go back to the races. We threw the kitchen sink at him today and I think the blinkers have transformed him. he has to have light at his jumps and he gave him a beautiful ride. It's never any harm going wide around Gowran, it all suited with the small field - plenty of light and blinkers. He's a 130ish horse over hurdles and he's a big lump of a thing. I haven't had a clear run with him over fences and his jumping went to pot last year, he was splitting fences. He's been jumping a lot better at home and on his last two runs. Whatever was niggling at him last year seems to have cleared up. He definitely has a engine and it's nice to be able to put it together for a pot like this. A bit of soft ground would be important to him but wherever he goes next he'll definitely have blinkers on him.
Indigo Breeze gets off the mark over hurdles
he's a nice horse. We've been trying to slow him down at home because he's a bit hard on himself and keen. He'll come on from that and he wants two-and-a-half miles. We'll try and find something small again for him.
Elliott wins with 'very nice' French import
he's a good horse and there is an awful lot of improvement in him. I think he is a fair horse. We'll try and split them up, we've a few horses for the same sort of thing, and I'll talk to the owner and see what he wants to do. He's a very nice horse.
Martin's mare causes 40/1 upset
they are great lads and they stuck with her. She had a few complications but touch wood we have ironed them out. She ran well on the Flat here but had a few issues, lucky enough we got them sorted and she has come good. We'll look for something similar again.
Third win in two months for Influential Lady
it was great to come on top in a tight finish like that. She was brave and it was a very good ride by Cathal. She's been a great mare for us, thank-God, and she seems to be improving with racing.
