Uncle Phil makes winning start over hurdles
Shannon Gray gets her head in front
I'm delighted because Mark (Quaid) is into breeding, has the family and her mother. He has a winning mare to go forward with and is from the family of Death Duty. She is tough and honest and was unlucky to bump into a well handicapped horse at Downpatrick the last day. Hopefully the handicapper won't be hard on her and we'll hope to squeeze another one with her. She might go to England and it is something we're looking into with some of the other good ground horses and she could run in a Class 4 handicap.
Evermore gives weight and a beating to rivals
It was a good performance. But for the mistake at Galway, I thought she would have been competitive and backed up that today. She isn't the biggest filly but is well able to carry weight and shows the heart she has. She is a good stayer but doesn't lack speed either and coming back in trip wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. She'll have options and could go to the bigger festivals and be competitive.
Tynan in fine voice following Killarney win
Authorized Art gives Danny a double
I had ridden him over hurdles and he was always a fantastic jumper but lacked tactical speed. The scope he shows over fences gives him new strengths and hopefully he will keep building on it.
Willie matches Aidan with Killarney four-timer
Connell has high hopes for Marine Nationale
He did what I expected and probably hasn't done any more than he did at Punchestown. They were proper winter horses in Punchestown and this was a summer bumper but it is nice to confirm it wasn't a flash in the pan. He has a grand relaxed temperament which is a big plus, we're thrilled and he looks a decent prospect. He was in Sam Curling's, has plenty jumping done and we bought him before he was to run in a four-yearold point-to-point.
