Pierre D'or lands the opener for Gorman & Hayes
He ran very well in Galway. Kevin (Manning) said he didn't get up the hill. Both Aidan and Dermot said it was a good race and Dermot thinks a lot of his fellow (Riviera Poet). He was beaten thirteen lengths simply because he didn't get up the hill. The Round Towers Stakes back here next Sunday is in the equation for him now. Chris (Hayes) said that he will improve from that and he was a bit babyish in front.
Ghalanta holds off Boris in the Curragh Stakes
She hasn't run too many bad races and she is improving. Sprinting is her game. She might not run again this season as there isn't too many five furlong races for her.
Account gets one over on Fame And Glory
The ground was against her in (Royal) Ascot. I only have four in training and is it wonderful to be able to win a race like this. She doesn't deserve to loose it (in the Stewards Room). She will go to Doncaster now for the Doncaster Cup but that is ground dependant. She was suppose to go to York during the week but it was a frustrating week watching the weather. She is in the sales too but I think we will keep her after that. We are lucky to have her and she is a fantastic, unbelievable mare.
Double for Bolger & Manning as Cleofila scores
I wasn't going to run her as she is a bit weak and green but we got away with it. She is one for next year. She is from a good Wildenstein family and she can only improve and may not run again this season.
Dragon rewards Harrington's faith
He did it very well. His first two runs were over six furlongs and the further he went the better he was going today. I'm thrilled with him. He might get supplemented for the National Stakes now but I'll have to talk to the owners. He wants it yielding though and if it was good to firm he wouldn't run. He is also in the Beresford Stakes. I supplemented him for this (for €9,500), I put my money where my mouth is and I'm delighted he won.
Eur Elusive springs 25/1 surprise
That's great, she's a good mare. She finished a good third in Down Royal earlier in the year behind Ken Condon's Marvada and that form has worked out well. There is a race for her back here on Moyglare day over six furlongs. She handled the good ground and Ray (Dawson) said the ground was perfect for her. Her dam (Europaea) won twice at the Curragh.
Puttore impresses in the last
I was afraid we hadn't done enough with her as she had been off for so long. She suffered a slab fracture to her knee last year. It was a worry from day to day with her as we couldn't put any pressure on it. The vets did a great job with her and she was swimming for most of the winter. We will try and get a Stakes race for her and see if she is good enough to win one of those.
