Mullins complimentary about El Fabiolo
He’s a nice recruit for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede. He shows me plenty at home and Paul said he was going easy at all stages. He does everything easy at home and showed me the same here.
Bridge Street off the mark over hurdles
I’m delighted, a homebred winner. She was one of three horses that JP (McManus) bought and now the three of them have won. She showed a good attitude on the run-in. I put a tongue tie on her today and it didn’t seem to do her any harm. I was very pleased the way she stayed on, I thought she was very brave and resolute. It looks like she could stay a bit further and hopefully she will improve with experience.

Molloy boots home first winner on Missiee
There were too many good lads there so I left to try and get more opportunities. I’m riding out for Shark Hanlon, Eoin McCarthy and Aidan Howard on the Curragh. Eoin (McCarthy) has been very good to me and I owe him a lot. This mare has improved with racing and we thought she had come on well from the run the last day in Clonmel. She loved the ground and stayed well. The last few years have been tough to keep going and I know I needed to improve but that makes it all worthwhile. Michael is a really sound and reliable fella. He started coming down to us last August and is great value for the 7lb. I’m delighted for the owner, John Costello, was has had her since she was a foal. He got some kick out of that.
Al Boum Photo records a fourth successive Savills Chase win
He fluffed one fence but did everything else right. Paul said he was just a bit idle in front. I’d like to get another run into him but we’ll have to see (how he is). Burrow Saint ran a cracker and I thought he was going to be a danger but when Paul pressed the button it was all over. Brahma Bull ran well for a horse that would probably hate that ground. Acapella Bourgeois was disappointing so we’ll have to see what we do with him.
Foley an able deputy on Young Fitzy
He just slotted in lovely with his hurdle rating (of 109). I was suspended today so Jack rode him and gave him a class ride. The horse jumped great. He’d a lot of schooling done as a young horse with Mick Goff and had all that point-to-point grounding. The lads (Bitter Sweet Syndicate) are from Galway.
