Kennedy returns on Elliott-trained Navan winner
he's a nice horse and he had a good run on the Flat at Roscommon a few weeks ago. Jack was happy with him and said he jumped well. I liked the way he put his head out and galloped from the last to the line. He had horses in behind rated 90 and 83 on the Flat. He could be a horse that could run well on the Flat as well. Jack said he would get a bit further as well, If you had asked me that last year I would have questioned it but he'll definitely get further. He probably doesn't want real winter ground but we'll keep him going and see where we go now.
Fourth career win for Rock On Seamie
he's good and consistent, is-what-he-is and has been knocking on the door over hurdles so it's great to finally win one. Aine's 5lb in those races is very valuable. I thought she gave him a fantastic ride, when they quickened she sat and waited, didn't get involved, gave him a chance and he came home strong. we ran him over a bit further before so we weren't worried about the fact that it was a stiff two miles here, we were pretty sure he'd see it out well and she rode him like that. He'll probably get an entry for the Friday or Saturday at Listowel and all going well he'll go there.
Profound not for passing
'Lovely feeling' as Russell returns with winner
It's a lovely feeling when you cross the line. It's a relief, if anything, and at least I can still do it anyway. I feel great, super, and got through Downpatrick no problem. He (Chemical Energy) jumped great. He was a big, raw horse last year but he's strengthened up into a grand horse now. it's great for Davy to come back on a winner, obviously he's a big part of the team. He's not a bad horse. I wasn't sure about him staying but it definitely looked like he stayed. He had a little blow so he'll definitely come on from that. We'll try and find a novice hurdle for him now. The owners are from England so I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up going over there for something. I'd say he doesn't want heavy ground.
Yamato completes across the card double for McConnell
I'm thrilled with that because he's a consistent little horse,. He was a cheap claim and he's now won on the Flat and over hurdles for the lads. On the slow side of good or yielding ground is fine for him. He's a very tough horse, he's had a lot of runs between myself and Michael Halford. He's been on the go a long time. I knew he fresh and well today and he's a tough little nut to crack when he's on form. There is probably another race in him on the Flat, over a mile-six or two miles. It's an awful pity we can't go to Wolverhampton for one of those but we're not allowed. We'll have to see what is in Dundalk but that's job done for now.
Foley rides winner on first ride for Tyner
One Last Tango wins Navan finale
you don't always get what you deserve but he deserved that. Any time he's got good ground, he's run a good race and was was only beaten three-quarters-of-a-length on his last two runs.. I wouldn't call him a summer bumper horse, he's a bit better than that and he'll definitely have a little break. We might just call it a day because he won't go soft ground. He'll be a nice horse for next summer in all those festival meetings. My assistant Elaine owns him and it's her first winner. She has worked very hard with him and a lot of it is down to her. She's over the moon to get that. It's very seldom I come out the right side of a photo so I'll take it and we're delighted.
