Shirley off the mark after a break
She had a setback in May and that's why she was a long time off. She did it well and she'll go on softer ground too. We have no plans.
Prendergast fast approaching 2,000
Lady finally makes the breakthrough
Ben did exactly as he was told and the filly travelled well throughout. She was only beaten an inch in Killarney and deserved this win. We had no worries from halfway up the straight as we knew we were home and hosed. She'll go for something similar next.
Stock takes the Guinness
It's nice, they are lovely horses and I am very lucky to have them. Mr McManus is the best employer in the country . he has so many horses. The loose horse didn't help Taking Stock but we hope he'll go on from here.
Walsh excels on Tower
Ruby gave him some ride . that's why he is champion. We were afraid of the ground only for that we would have really fancied him. He is a small horse but he is a little tryer. His jumping kept him in it.
Byrnes on the mark again with Jack
That was a comfortable win and the ground is the key to him. He didn't like jumping on the fast ground the last two days. Matthew (Bowes) carried out the instructions beautifully as I told him to take no chances.
Boy has local owners Laughing
He is by Montjeu and we picked him up fairly cheaply at Newmarket Sales. He looks a progressive type and he has now won on the flat and today for us. He won't be one for winter ground, he doesn't even like wet weather and when the ground softens up he could be a Dundalk horse. He has plenty of gears. That ground was a bit dead for him though and it's nice to win for the owners (the Nearly There Syndicate) who are from Listowel.
