Rebel proves tough in Navan opener
He's a lovely horse. Pat (Garvey) bought him in America and he qualified for one of these auction maidens so it was brilliant to get a win into him. When we step him up in trip we think there is a lot of improvement to come. He's very willing and very tough. He just wants to please and has a great temperament. We like him a lot and we just have to speak to Mr Garvey and see where we go from here.

Martini another for red hot Twomey
He's a nice horse that Morna (winning owner Morna McDowall) sent to us in March,. He'll probably have no bother getting further but we thought five was nice place to start him today on a stiff track like this. It's great that he won today and we'll make a new plan as we go now. He's a nice horse, he's been working well and that ground was ideal for him.
Haqeeba 'on song' a week on
I'm pleased for her owner Maurice McCavitt, who is a businessman from Newry. Unfortunately he couldn't make it today,. She just seemed to be on song today for some reason. We gave her a bit of work during the week and we were really happy with her. We don't usually run horses week after week but she was in such good form during the week we said we'd just give her a run.
My Laureate blitzes her rivals as Keane doubles-up
She's been promising that. She's been rushing and rushing and to be fair she's just grown into herself,. She's like (her full-brother) Insayshable, (half-sister) Ainippe was sharper. This one is more Insayshable even though she's a speed horse, mind wise she's like him. The penny dropped with me, not her, in Naas that I just had to stick to the five and concentrate on five and let her do her job. She was on the wrong side last time and that's the annoying thing about Naas as they never had a draw bias there before until this year. I don't know why it's happening. This race fell and we thought she'd win this, if she did everything right, and she did and she won it. We'll see what the handicapper does, it'll be more of the same. Ideally with these sprinting types you'd like to get black-type. We are a long way off that but maybe as a four-year-old she might be that type.
