Johannes Vermeer moves up in class
I'm delighted with him. He was a bit disappointing first time in Tipperary but that can happen over seven furlongs there. He came forward great from that and won nicely in Killarney where Emmet (McNamara) liked him. Joseph was very happy with him today. He picked up plenty when he asked and battled well.

Fascinating Rock loves it round Foxrock
He's a class horse. He ran some excellent races in the spring and had a lovely summer break - maybe too good! . He needed the run in Windsor more than I thought. It was a trifle disappointing but the benefit was that it brought him on and gave me the idea to go further. He just struggled on the track at Windsor as it was a little bit sharp for him.
Golden Horn just Champion
He had to do it the hard way as there was no obvious pace. Being drawn one he didn't want to get boxed in if there was no pace. He just seen something under the rail and ducked at it. A photographer has told me it was the shadow of the grand-stand and you can't really see it on the TV. Frankie was aware of it straight away and gave him a crack down the shoulder before a right hander to straighten him. He seemed to be going right away at the end. I thought Found was the main danger as she's an improving three-year-old filly and she finished very strong. Free Eagle ran a solid race too - obviously a very good race. Obviously we'd like to go for the Arc and he handled slow good to soft ground there. If it was like that or better it would be fine but I wouldn't want to run on soft heavy ground.
Wachman lavishes praise on Legatissimo
She's been improving all year. She seemed to travel very well, quicken well and put it to bed well. She seems to be getting fresh between her races. She hadn't run in about six weeks and we'll try and give her another six weeks and head to the Breeders Cup. I'll have to talk the owners but I'd like to go for the fillies and mares turf. She wants good ground and only barely tolerated that. I was very close to not running her today and drove her expecting to take her out. But when I walked it I got a nice surprise. She wants good ground as does Gleneagles and when it looked like he would run in the Champion if he got that ground she was always going to go for the fillies race. We had no qualms about the mile but the ground was definitely a worry. It was a very good performance. I'd have to put her at the top of the horses I have trained.
