Myerscough takes Curragh opener
He was knocking on the door and deserved it,. The ground was probably a bit softer than ideal. Hopefully it will dry out and we'll come back here for the Joe McGrath Handicap (September 27th). He was unlucky in the Scurry Handicap here on Derby day when he won on the far side. He was out in front on his own and idled. The cheekpieces seem to have done the job today.
France next for White after Blandford success
She's a very very good filly as we've seen continually. She has been running consistently and well,. We'll possibly go for the Prix de l'Opera next and probably then look at the Fillies & Mares at the Breeders Cup. It's the logical progress to go for a Group 1. She's a very very consistent filly and a lovely filly to train.
Alandi battles gamely to land Leger
Kingsfort signs off with National success
That's very good. He cost €36,000 at the Goffs Sportsman Sale and I bought the filly (Termagant) at the same sale an hour within each other,. I was going to give him a break after his first run but he got sick and enforced the break himself. He had a virus and his leg filled up. We were very worried for four or five days but it cleared up and he hasn't looked back since. This was the plan and he's done his bit for the year. He's a big, tall, lanky horse and he should improve over the winter. We'll be able to dream over the winter.
Prendergast doubles up with Crystal
She's a smart filly - she goes well at home,. They went very steady and she got into a bit of trouble but she has a little bit of zip to get her out of trouble. If she comes out of this alright she'll come back here for the Goffs Million (September 27th).
Heart gives Smullen treble at Curragh
He had a stone bruise this morning and was absolutely crippled,. He was in ice all day and it's credit to the farrier and the staff. He was lame this morning and it was touch and go if he would run or not.
