Hennessy on cloud nine again with "wonderful mare" Heaven
I'm over the moon, absolutely thrilled. It was a very good race as the two other mares in it were black-type mares as well. David said she jumped great in company. Obviously the race in Sligo brought her forward. It's just magic. I've one horse, that's her, and where she's been bringing us is just incredible. We ended up in the Grade 1 last year by accident. I was looking for something to do, just entered her in it and hey presto she finished second!. We had a great time and her run in the Supreme at Cheltenham was good. She met a lot of trouble but ran well. She's a wonderful mare and she's very easy to do. I've given most of my life to the dogs and this is a great release. I'm still busy with the dogs but not at the level we used to be as I haven't pushed it as much as we used to. I said to John Turner there that we'll have great sport now. We can enter her into all the big fancy races now that she's won her maiden chase. We got such a buzz last year and John lets me do that kind of thing. When you line up in those good races your knees are knocking and it's wonderful. She's just amazing and I think she can improve again.
Maid powers home to make it two from two over fences
I told David that these might be a bit slicker than she is, more experienced that her, and to maybe wait a bit with her which he did,. The all got racing six furlongs out and David decided no and came late. That was the deciding thing. I was happy enough with her jumping even though she was maybe a bit sketchy at a few. I was expecting her to win and she did. She wants three miles but doesn't want winter heavy so we'll see where we go from here. There is supposed to be a good program for novice mares so we'll test that now. I'm thrilled with her, she's well bred and is a great mare really as she's won seven now. I was delighted with her jumping, she was a bit sketchy compared to Galway, but I was happy enough with her. We'll find a mares novice and I'll definitely try not to come back in trip.
Holidays now for good money-spinner Lord Lariat
He's a big baby and he's going on his holidays now,. A good friend of mine, PJ Casey, has a half share in him. He's a grand big horse and the boys want to give him a break which I think probably is the right thing to do. He's only five and he'll grow into himself. PJ is big into the showing and hunting, he picked him out and he hadn't much of a page. He jumped super and that's down to him, all the schooling is down to him.
"Three-quarters fit" Queens Brook makes winning start over flights
She was the one horse that came back in looking like a broodmare,. I wanted to run her to try and have her back for Down Royal. We knew she was only 75 or 80 per cent fit. Davy said she blew up twice. He said if she was fit and right he should have been letting her stride on four or five out but he was sitting against her. He said she had two blows but jumped great, did everything right and only got tired. We didn't want to make it but there was no pace. We knew coming here today she was only three-quarters fit and thankfully it's job done. She's a nice mare and she's one to look forward to. I'd say when she gets two-and-a-half miles she's going to be class, in a true run race. She just did what she had to do. Davy said she had to do everything he didn't want to do. He said he was never going to get beat but that she did get tired.

Murray has She's Commanche spot on after a break
It took a long time for us to get her settled, she was always very free and wound up,. It took us over a year for us to get her to relax and settle at home. We did an awful lot of slow work with her. Sean said she'd want that ground or softer. We had her in at Gowran last week but took her out as we thought the ground was too quick for her. Hopefully we can pick up another one with her, fingers crossed.
Clickety click but Empress' win not completely unexpected
We were expecting a nice run from her,. Her first run in a maiden in the spring was good. We brought her back after the break with covid and she's just coming fit there now and learning her job. It was a middling race today and she learned a lot the last day in a good race at Galway. She was off the bridle with a mile to go that day but stayed on. Today was she was off the bridle again and Barry gave her an unreal ride. He never gave up. She jumped and stayed going. We had her fit, she was fit from her last few runs and is peaking now. Her brother won bumpers and maiden hurdles but she didn't show that kind of speed. Even there today she's still learning her job.
