Count provides Duke with his first winner
He kept it uncomplicated and he was genuine. He will be better on nicer ground as it is very soft out there. I think that is one of Duke's (sire Duke Of Marmalade) first winners and we have a few nice ones at home. He was very green in front but it was his first time on a track like that.
Yards makes all for Oliver & Hayes
I'm delighted with that. We always liked the horse and he had a very nice first run at the Curragh. Nothing seemed to work out for him last time out. He got a bit worked up beforehand and nothing went right for him during the race. We drew a line through that run. Taking into account what we thought of him we thought he would go close tonight. Chris gave him a great straightforward ride.
Cheval goes one place better a day on
I actually thought she wasn't going to get out but that's maybe the way to ride her. Sam was very good on her. He had nowhere to go and it just opened for him at the right time. She is probably just getting fit now (sixth run in the space of a month) and she might run at Fairyhouse tomorrow. We have to run her when the ground is like that.
Theyturnedmedown wins again at Roscommon
He could go for a 50-80 rated handicap at the Curragh now on Oaks weekend. He wants seven furlongs or a stiff six furlongs. He has a lot of pace. Leigh said he was tanking down the back straight and he could hardly hold him. He is tough and likes that soft to heavy ground.
Comfortable win for Tarla on her comeback
Aklan just holds on in Lenebane thriller
He started the year well and won well at the Curragh. He ran ok on his second start although he was very green. I thought he would run well at Limerick but there was no pace there and that didn't suit him. There was a reasonable pace today and he handled the ground and stayed well. He was probably in front a bit soon and wandered around. He might go for the Challenge Stakes at Leopardstown now later in the month.
