Going - Good. Bright and dry
Another for Crowe as Star beats Cailin
I was sure we'd have a winner yesterday with Monelissio (finished second at Sligo). This horse loves that ground and he'll be better in a quicker race. He could be a horse for the Galway Hurdle. He doesn't take a lot of racing so he'll go for a four-year-old winners of one next maybe at Bellewstown. I was delighted when I saw the ground and he was a bit of price.
Carpet provides Farrell with first track win
That is my first winner on the track but I have had point-to-point winners. I used to ride as an amateur for Frank Berry. This horse has had a few niggly problems but that are all behind him now. He wants good ground and I think he will step up again and win. He will go over fences in the summer and he jumps really well. I rode him in a charity race at Punchestown and he was beaten just over ten lengths by a horse who is rated 120.
Bondage scores for Elliott
He was entitled to win on ratings. He would be suited by a bigger field as he was on his own a bit there. He's been some little moneyspinner for the size of him. He'll go for a flat handicap and then go chasing. He has schooled and jumps well.
Johannisberger eases to beginners chase win
Rated 116 he just sneaked in. The ground was a big factor. His wind isn't great and he has got it done twice but he jumped super today and this track suits him.
House Rules on handicap debut
They all count and it was a good race to win. He had a good enough season last year before he was beaten out of sight in a Grade 3 by Baily Green on soft to heavy ground. He loves good ground and he jumped brilliantly for his first handicap. The loose horse nearly wrecked the race for him. He loves Kerry tracks and we will keep him on the go for the summer.
Deegan comes up trumps on Carmels Boy
This horse has lots of ability. He's very quirky and wasn't in love with the game. I took him point-to-pointing and he enjoyed it. He might got to Taylorstown point-to-point on Saturday [near Newry]. I have 16 horses, but only four for the track. Most of my horses are for point-to-pointing.
Double for Elliott as Baby takes the bumper
He is what he is and he'll run away over the summer and he will get a bit further. It's good to get a winner for the boys (winning owners the Barstool Prophets Syndicate) as they were with me when I had my first winner.
