Miss beats Madam in Listowel opener
Bryan gave her a great ride. She was a little bit free but she settled well in front. Bryan gave her a bit of breather before the straight to fill up her lungs. She ran in a schooling hurdle around three weeks ago where she finished fourth or fifth but she has really coming into herself since. She has showed plenty of stamina and will be a great jumper. She may go for a flat race now or she could come back here in September for a Novice Hurdle.
Hassett & O'Grady combine for Empire win
They are fun old things horses. He worked well last week for probably the first time ever but I didn't know whether he would reproduce it. He jumps well and likes going left handed. He will go for something similar next. He reversed into my car yesterday and that might pay for some of the damage!
Two in-a-row for improving Victrix
McKiernan takes the Listowel feature with Bets
He jumped very well. He was under pressure at some of the fences from other horses but his jumping was brilliant. He doesn't really have a turn of foot but his jumping is the key to him. Shane gave him a lovely ride and they work well together. He will be kept on the go now for the summer and he likes tight tracks.
McNamara pushes Glibin out to victory
She was so well schooled coming from Colin's yard and her jumping won it for her. She won a point-to-point before.
Another for Lavery as Warne lands a gamble
We are thinking of sending him to Galway now. We will see what mark his is given by the handicapper and will consider our options then. He was place there before and has some good runs in Novice Chases.
Great win for the Busteed's as Well takes the last
John Thomas rode him in a point-to-point last year and he spent all day in the air! . He told me not to run him in another point-to-point but I brought him back this year and ran him in Kilmallock and I was disgusted when he didn't jump a fence. He had done some very impressive work in the meantime so I decided to run him in a bumper but it had to be over two and a half miles. This was a winners race but we just had to go for it. He is a relentless galloper and I had a few quid on him this morning at 33/1. We are all about pre-training and breaking horses and to have a winner on the track is just great. It is very rare that we had one good enough.
