Kilavalley does it from front
He just wasn't quick enough for bumpers. He's a grand horse. The owners bought him as a foal as they had his half brother Glenbarrow. His jumping was super for a novice. He went on the ground which is a big help for the winter.
McDonagh has welcome winner
She is tough and she stays at it well. We'll keep her hurdling now for the time being and we'll try and sneak another one. She is well handicapped over fences and was unlucky not to win a point-to-point. She didn't stay the trip. That might break our luck as we've had a lot of seconds and thirds.
Double up for Cooper on Coole Avenue
He's good and tough and Bryan gave him a nice ride. I thought the 7lb penalty might have beaten him, but maybe he had a little bit left. He'll probably jump a fence soon. The owner (Brendan Cocoman) is anxious to go for a three mile Listed handicap hurdle on the Saturday at Cheltenham's November meeting.
Go Native puts on a great show
Cooper completes Legendary Galway treble
that was a godo performance and he is a lovely horse. He jumped beautifully and quickened well. He has a lovely way of jumping but while I don't know immediate plans, I hope we'll be around for the Dr P.J. Moriarty Chase in December! . He was a few lengths off Grade 1 standard over fences but stays three miles well, loves soft ground, is by a very good sire (Saint Des Saints) . what more do you want!
Surprise win for Selection Box
Selection Box is an eleven year old but keeps surprising us! He is a smashing horse and is so tough. This was a lovely pot to win and it was his owner Stephen Elliott (one of the four member Belfast based Web Law Racing Syndicate) that suggested this race to run in.
Hughes family four timers
I had four winners in a day at Roscommon many years ago. It's unusual for us to have bumper winners, but the two we had today are very good [Somethingwonderful and Thunder And Roses]. I'd like to keep him [Somethingwonderful] as a novice hurdler until next season and I'd prefer to bring him back for a winners bumper in the spring.
