Weld off to another flier at Galway
He did it nicely. He was a little bit keener than Ruby would have wanted and as a result probably didn't win as impressively as we expected,. We'll see how he is in the morning and hopefully we'll run him back. The ground is beautiful and he's a relatively fresh horse. Hopefully we can get him relaxed a bit better. He got geed up at the start when a horse bumped into him and it set him alight.
Aladdins proves a treasure for Murphy
I'm absolutely delighted. He's been running well and off his hurdles mark we thought he had a right chance,.
Weld doubles up with Mustajeeb
.He's a nice horse. The original plan was to sit second as we thought Friendship would make it. Obviously that changed rapidly but he settled nicely in front and it was never really in doubt in the home straight,.
Clements back with a bang in amateur ranks
.I don't think he had too hard a race. When he got there he started to ease up and we'll see how he is after this,.
Rivals fail to reach Target
It was a bit of a risk bringing him back so quick after Down Royal,. He's a tough horse. He won it from the front and stuck to his task well. He had a lot of weight with 10st-5lb and I've never seen Chris come out with so heavy a saddle. It was like he was going to ride in a bumper!. He gave him a positive ride and he toughed it out. I'm very happy. He's in again later in the week but that might be a bit greedy. He's looks progressive and when he hits the front he just does enough.
Martin on the double with Crusader
.It was a great performance. She's a lovely filly and is big and backward,.
Brave best in bumper for Mullins
He travelled very well and I ended up behind Robbie McNamara which is where you want to be around Galway as he rides it better than anyone,. He was looking at the crowd, that's what got him beat last time, and he had more in the tank. He's improved from last time and I think he'll improve again. It's great to get the monkey off my back on the first day as I'll have a lot of fancied rides during the week.
