Bobby's Kitten impresses on Irish debut
Two from two for English at Cork
He's a big raw horse and I picked him up for only 800 Guineas last summer. He showed promise on his first run but 1m 2f was then too far and on his third run the surface at Dundalk had been getting faster during the season and he didn't leave himself down. I was quietly confident coming here and he is ground dependant. He's still very raw and babyish and would get away with good to yielding ground but nothing quicker.
Slattery wins A Few More Dollars
I don't back horses and was never in the local betting office until this morning! . He lost his form last year but we cauterised his palate five weeks ago and it has made a big difference - I fancied him today. I think there's a good handicap in him but he wouldn't want real quick ground. I'd eight for the flat last year and had 13 winners and have 15 this year, four of which are two year olds.
O'Donovan off the mark on well-backed winner
We're lucky to have horses like her and I'm delighted for Chris as it's his first winner on the track. He's leading the novice riders' point-to-point championship at the moment and if we have to, we'll keep this mare for one or two Opens at Kinsale at the end of the season for him to ride. We'll go to Kinsale and we'll beat the northern boys this year! It's my uncle's 90th birthday and we'll celebrate that too - he's the same age - born on the same day, as the Queen (April 21st, 1926)!
Trainer/jockey wins Cork hunter chase
Salsify toughs it out under Harding
He was out in front a long time and was idling away - my old heart gave a bit of a jump at one stage!. We'll see how he comes out of this but while we'll look at Aintree, it'll probably be Punchestown next. He still has the same old sparkle and will definitely come back again next season.
Cork bumper winner maintains unbeaten run
he's tough but I wanted a gallop and in the end they went no gallop but he still found plenty. The softer the better for him and the reason he hadn't run until now was he is 17 hands and took a long time to come to hand. He's not a bumper horse but will make a lovely staying chaser and his future is over jumps.
Bite provides O'Donovan with first win
She won her point to point well but was too free at Gowran and Stephen was adamant he wanted to drop her in today. She has a lot of class but I think she'd prefer a bit of better ground. She'll run next in the Fillies Sales Bumper at Punchestown.
