Landau lands Downpatrick's opener
he probably deserved to do that on his last run and on his two flat runs and he's a grand fun horse.
Elliott doubles up with Sales bound winner
he's (Drunken Counsel) probably better suited to England and goes to the sales next week- he'll go on any ground.
Effernock scores for Keane & Flanagan
I thought he would win a point-to-point, but he was backward and had lots of little niggles and it was an ordinary looking race. He gallops and jumps and we fancied him a bit on his run in Ballinrobe where he was second. We thought if he wasn't in the first three there, we were going nowhere and he was also fourth in a better race at Ballinrobe. We'll probably have to go for a handicap now and I'm delighted for Mark (Flanagan), who is a great lad. He's from Kells and lives in Trim and I try and give him rides.
'Crock' Villeneuve gains first hurdle win
on his mark he was near a certainty but while he has been winning chases in England, they weren't top-class races, more cup races. Philip Carberry (jockey and rider of the family's Champion Hurdle winner Sublimity) sent me him over from France but we had to persevere with him as he's had three wind operations, has a bad back and has to have the massage machine every day. He's a crock but we seem to have him right now thank God and he has strengthened up nicely. He might go to Perth for a cup race or the Kerry National and he seems to be improving all the time.
Long trip pays off for Buster Dan Dan
he's tough and honest and is a terrier! He knuckled up the hill and I was always comfortable. He'll be off for a two or three week break and we'll probably come back here or go to Tramore, as he corners well. I've a good strike rate and love it here -they do a great job and the ground is well watered and safe. I'm delighted for his owner Noel O'Sullivan and the commitment he and his family have shown.
Exit set for Sales after Downpatrick win
he's in the Sales at Doncaster next week and if he's not sold he could come back here or go to Tramore again. He's well handicapped over fences and hurdles and likes it up here and won a chase here in June - he got a great ride by Mickey.
