Gudnis makes all to record 7th career success
I got my own way in front and she likes that bit of nice ground.
Akatara does it again
She is so consistent and has been in the first four about twenty-five times. She is also very versatile and it doesn't seem to make a difference whether she is running on soft over two miles or on good to firm over three miles. I bought her for €1,000 at Goffs a few years ago out of the John Oxx yard and she is very sound and has great wind. She often hits a bit of flat spot during her races but her jumping keeps her in it. She travelled sweeter today that usual. Jody is great value for his seven pound claim although I would like to give Brian Hayes a special mention as he normally rides her but he is out suspended at the moment. He also does a lot of work on her at home. She will still be a novice for another ten months so it gives her plenty of options.
Dinero eases to 5th career success
I didn't think he'd win as easy as that. He is an impossible horse to get fit and I even did a fast piece of work over a mile with him this morning or else he would have been a bit stuffy coming here this evening. I had blinkers on him the last day but I don't think he likes them and he travelled sweeter today in the cheekpieces. The winning owners (the Winonesoon Syndicate) are mainly from around my area, the Nenagh, Toomevara area.
Beachdale makes it two from two over fences
He is very good. He wings fences when he is on and he has the scope to do it. He puts the others under pressure with his jumping. He may go to Killarney now, I think there is a suitable race for him there. We will look at wherever the ground is good.
Double Seven wins at 14/1
That was a pleasant change as he'd gone very frustrating. He was a good horse over hurdles but he has taken time to adapt to fences. Last year he never got that type of ground and that's what I was putting it down too. Stamina is not a problem and he could go for something like the Galway Blazers.
Doubles for JP, Walsh & Meade as Tom scores
