Let's Dance meets expectations
Hopefully she'll make a nice novice hurdler for the season ahead and all I had to do today was stay on her back and she did the job well for me,. Willie will decide where she goes next. She has had plenty racing and will be well able to compete in the good novice races again next season.
Another win in the west for Isabella
Littleluck on the up
We originally thought he was a winter horse. He has been on the go a long time now and I'm keen to give him a break,. He is owned by a good friend of mine, Kevin Haigney, from Drogheda, who had his first winner with this horse at Cork last time. Mark (Flanagan) is based with Ger Keane but does bits of work for me and is riding out of his skin at the moment.
Miss Faithful wins a 2nd
She has always been consistent and likes the good ground,. She'll probably go to Tramore next, in the first week of June, for another handicap hurdle.
Yes patience was required but Man delivers
Johnny Sheedy, from Newcastle, Co Dublin, has been a friend of mine since I was a kid, and he approached me a couple of months ago to train this horse. He had been owned by a number of different lads who lost interest, and lads dropped in and dropped out of him,. I looked at his form and said 'Johnny do you really want to go down this road' but another friend said he's actually not too bad and will win for you. We ran him in a schooling bumper at Dundalk and he won, but when we went to Wexford, the heavy ground found him out. Hopefully he'll get through another handicap during the summer and can also jump a fence.
Peddlers' bro springs big shock
Larry can't cope with The Mad Well
I got to the start and said I'd take a chance and drop out as there appeared to be loads of pace. All day they were stopping when they hit the hill,. He was being ridden all wrong and the plan coming here was for him to go home after today. He wants a dig and this was the only track in Ireland to run him today.
Belle ends amazing sequence of results
I bought her on the strength of her brother, Third Opinion, who I had. He was a Grade 2 horse but everything went wrong with him and he had various fractures and problems with hocks and splints,. I like this filly and she has a good way of going. I was hoping to get reasonable ground today and the two fillies (winner and the unplaced Nanny Stone, who is in the same ownership) both jump well and will go out on grass now - the other filly has a nice way of going but she's just weaker. It's my first winner for Peter Miller who had horses with Richard McCormack 40 years ago. He is from Montreal but he's now in Ireland.
