Third time lucky for Thankful
Twister provides Clifford with his first winner
It wasn't a surprise to me. He is a notoriously difficult ride and Gary gave him a peach of a ride. Gary is apprentice to Ger Lyons and it is the first time I have used him. He will go to Gowran now on Friday and he might also run at Tipperary on Sunday. We will run away with him when he is fresh. I have my license over two years now and I've had ten point-to-point winners and a few seconds over jumps and on the level on the track but this is my first winner. I spent three years with Jim Bolger and I was also head lad to Tony Martin and Caroline Hutchinson. I have four horses at home at the moment but I am going to concentrate on the flat now and I'm looking at yards in the Curragh and Meath. I had a few orders to buy horses at Tattersalls and I would welcome more.
Angels finds her wings to shed maiden tag
She goes on that ground and that is a real bonus. I would like to get one or two more runs into her before the end of the year.
Killahena back among the winners
I want to thank my GP Martin Bailey and the Turf Club Medical Officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick. Class is permanent. I knew he was coming back to form. All credit must go to my wife Anne (owner) as she rides him out every day and won't let me near him! She told me he was going to win.
Hughes & King win another bumper
I'm not really a bumper man at all but it's nice to have two winners in two days. He was a cheap horse with a great pedigree and we bought him for €10,000 at the Derby Sale (June 2011). He is a proper horse and hopefully he will go on from this. He has always shown plenty of ability at home and he ran a hell of a race on his debut.
Busty scores on first start for Meade
We thought he might win it. He was behind Champagne Agent the last day but he was getting eight pounds off him today. The ground was also a factor. We weren't sure whether he would go on it. He stays very well and three miles suits him. He will stick to hurdling for the moment.
Five in-a-row for Baily Green
I didn't think it would be straightforward with the fences omitted but he was good. He is a serious lepper and he is very, very quick. He is a good ground horse and he done well to win today. He will probably get a rest now and he is the makings of a fair horse.
Orpheus takes the last for Gibney & Heskin
I was confident coming here as he is in good form. Hopefully this will be a stepping stone for him although I have nothing planned. His owners (the No Horse Box Syndicate) are a seven member syndicate from Cavan. I have ten in training at the moment and my numbers have more than doubled since the Grand National win as I only had two to four before it.
