He toughed it out well. It was probably a big ask running three times in seven days but I felt he was in good form and I couldn’t see any reason not to run him. He could go to Galway, it depends how he comes out of this, and it looks more of an option now. I’d like to have a runner.

We gave him a bit of a break as he’s been busy this year but I didn’t expect him to win like that after a break. He’s entered at Leopardstown and Down Royal later this week and we’ll have a look and see what the handicapper does. He excelled over the distance, and it looked like he stayed well. It’s great for Caroline as well. She’s been with Ger Lyons for the last two weeks, and he says he’s improved her 10lb!

Smullen doubles up with Swamp Fox

I suppose you could say that was long overdue. He’s very genuine but is so laid-back that he needs the blinkers to sharpen him up. He’ll be entered for the amateur race at Galway (next Monday). I think there is a big race in him some day.
