Indigo follows up on good debut effort
She had a good first run and improved from it. She hit the front a bit too soon, but she did it well. She is for sale and hopefully she will be sold, if not I might run her in a Listed race next.
Miranda's lands a gamble for Cleary
That was well overdue. We were hoping for the rain and she loved it. She had a nice light weight and it was the first time Colin was claiming seven pounds, so he was able to do it. It's nice to give him a winner as his dad Gerry (trainer, Gerard Keane) gave Rory (Rory Cleary) his first winner when he was starting out. I'm delighted for the owners (the Moyclear Syndicate), who have a few horses with me, they have been patient.
Ultra easy win for Cool
That's the first time we stepped her up in trip. She was always finishing her races well and she got the trip well. She ran a cracker at Galway and deserved that win. She hasn't run a bad race all year and she is in again during the week (Tipperary on Thursday) and if she comes out of this ok, she could run again.
1,2 for Flannery as Wait beats Glance by a head
That's some result, I couldn't believe it. He is a bit of a pup but I always knew he had the ability. This was his last chance today and it just shows you the way things go. Joseph gave him a great ride, he kept at him even when he looked beat. I thought Roscommon would suit him as they race towards the gate home (the gate into the parade ring) and I thought he would like that. It's a great achievement for me as I only have eight horses.
Knockcroghery goes one place better 24 hours on
She had been running badly, but we discovered her wind was wrong, so she had a wind operation. I have to thank everyone at Sycamore Lodge for all their work, as we always thought a lot of her. It's a first ever winner for her joint owner Roy Spiller, who is ninety-one. She is handicapped on the flat and we will try a find a flat handicap for her next. I wonder what the handicapper will do with her now? I hope he will be gentle on her!. I had her home at 5 yesterday and she was bucking and playing in the garden and ate up all her food this morning so we said we would bring her here today.
Wither Hills survives Enquiry
He got the run of the race, everything suited him and the ease in the ground helped.
Minella scores on first start over hurdles
He is a nice horse and stays well, he might go for a winners race next. We were a bit afraid of the ground before the race. He is a well bred horse.
