De Bromhead & Hamilton win Kilbeggan's opener
First racecourse win for Miss Us O
I'm delighted for her to get the win as she's a consistent wee mare and she keeps galloping away. She was always going to do that over three miles and 2m6f at Downpatrick (in May) was too short for her - she needs a genuine three miles. She might be better over a fence and might sneak by in one of those low grade handicaps over fences. I'm delighted for Olivia (O'Reilly, owner) as she's stuck by her- she won a point-to-point at Loughanmore a couple of years ago but she didn't want to sell her. We'll tip away with her and see what comes up that is suitable. The 0-95s aren't easy to get into with balloting but she'll have a free pass (by winning) the next day.
Winters making hay with Voler La Vedette's son
we were delighted with the result when he looked fairly spectacular in Listowel and we were thinking we might have to go beginners chasing. He didn't jump that well today but maybe the ground would want to be a little bit better for him. We'll play it by ear with him but we might now even look at the likes of the Grimes Hurdle (Tipperary). It might be aiming a bit high but if there were five or six runners you'd throw him in at this stage.
'Take 2' as Granny Lowrie records Kilbeggan success
it's nice to get that with her as she was unlucky to lose a race here a couple of years ago. She was a mare we always liked and Barry Connell bought her but she must have had a few little issues with him. We were lucky enough to be able to buy her back (for €6,500 last February) and it's lovely for her to go and do that today. She'll probably go for a mares' winners race, we'll see what the programme is like and she is also big enough to jump a fence. Her jumping wasn't great today but it was falsely run, they crawled then sprinted and it probably didn't suit her. She has schooled over fences as she was going to run in a point-to-point but the ground just went for her.
Fitzgerald enjoys Kilbeggan double
he jumped savage, you just sit back and enjoy him!. He didn't make a mistake the whole way, he was absolutely foot perfect. He did it very well in the end and toughed it out to the line.
Easy bumper win for Realistic Optimism
