We've been kind of in and out form wise and hitting the crossbar a bit,. Not every horse is running the way I'd like them to so it's nice to get a winner. We put the tongue-tie back on her today and her jumping was much better than it had been. She's got the Flat speed and class that she's able to travel within herself. It's nice to get it for the lads as they've been very patient with her. I've been saying 'don't worry lads there is ability here' as on some of her runs it was hard to believe it. She's improving and she's getting more confidence in her jumping so hopefully she can win again.
Rothwell continues profitable spell
The horse deserved it and the owner deserves it as well. Last year he ran well in a hurdle or two and picked up a little injury. It was slow coming back and he's been placed a good few times without winning. It was lovely to have James on him as well as he was out with injury and it's his first winner for me since he came back, he has had one or two other winners. Michael Cawe had a horse with me seven or eight years ago called Imperial Joey, that won a race for me, and I hadn't had a horse for him since until I got this lad so it's lovely to have another winner for him. Michael is from Ballinrobe so we'll see if there is a hurdle up there for him a little bit later in the year. It would be nice to get him close to home for him.
Lucid Dreams takes another step up the ladder
He's a fair horse. Hopefully he'll be lucky,. He'll have to up his game again the next day. He can go to three miles or go back to two, it doesn't matter. He's a classy horse, the best I've ever trained anyway. Whether he runs between now and Galway I don't know, maybe in another novice hurdle somewhere. He's a big horse, 17 hands and 650 kilos.
