Important colours in winning enclosure for Slatterys
That is (jockey, son) Andrew's first winner in those colours. My father worked for Jamie Spencer's dad George all his life, rode winners on Winning Fair, who won the 1963 Champion Hurdle in them, so when I was looking for colours for my wife Mary, I got those. Another horse, Springtime Lad, won a Munster National for my father in those colours so this win is nice to get. We are hoping he (Apologise) will make a nice hurdle horse as he goes on soft. We haven't schooled him as we were hoping to get that win out of the way and going up in trip was a big help. We liked him early on, but he was as green as grass in three maidens.

Noble Crusade in charge under O'Connor
The owners have been very patient and it took me a while to get the hang of him but he ran well the other day. It was just a case of whether or not he would back it up but because he was going up 2lbs, we felt we had to have a go as he was out of the 45-65 bracket after today. He wouldn't be a Dundalk horse, he likes a cut in the ground and will go hurdling now. The owners, publicans including Askeaton publican Josh Sheahan, have been great.
Star Official wins well under Heffernan
That was brilliant and I'm delighted for the joint-owner with me, Donal Doyle, who has been with me a while. He is a great man and is well able to manage expectations and loves the racing game. He had been disappointing up until now, but is a good, strong horse who went on that sticky ground, stayed the trip and might jump a hurdle now.
