Laws makes the breakthrough in first time blinkers
I wanted Wayne because he could do the weight and he suited that filly as she needed a strong ride. He got a lovely break and sat in a good position the whole way. She idles a bit but today was her first time in full blinkers and the rain came at exactly the right time as she needs that bit of ease in the ground. I'm happy for the owners and she is a winner now.

McGuinness & Madden on the mark with Piper
I knew she'd like a bit of juice in the ground and she had been the bridesmaid here twice before. She blew up in Gowran the last day and I knew she'd come on from it. She is a low grade handicapper and we'll find something else before the year is out. She is belonged to a group of lads who have been with me since 2006 and I trained the dam (Distant Piper) who won six or seven races. They bred her themselves so it is great.
Leonard the Talk of Roscommon after 230/1 double
I'm very quite and only have four in for the summer. Things are tough at the moment and I'm trying to get in a few more. The last year has been tough to even keep open but I'm just trying to keep in there and get a few more horses. Longterm, I'd love to keep at it as I know nothing else but to keep going will be a tough battle. I'd need at least 20 horses to keep going and I'd definitely take anything, breaking or pre-training, anything.
De Name Escapes Me completes Madden brothers double
In the stand I couldn't see him as they were racing behind the stalls. When they came out I was looking at the wrong horse so I didn't see him until the last second. Soft ground makes a big difference. They went very quick and he stays well. I'd say they went too quick in front and he is a stayer. He is a moderate jumper - he jumps hurdles but doesn't jump fences. We said we'd give him a run on the flat to sweeten him up and give him something else to think about.
Stormy Tale makes all in Roscommon feature
She is as tough as old boots. She isn't the fastest in the world but keeps giving everything she has and is only a pony. I wish I had a few more of them and every day she goes out she draws money. It was lovely to win that pot with an average enough filly. I have a thing in the back of my mind to go over hurdles with her at Galway. She jumps well.
Heavenly winner for Lavery, Foley & Zhang
