Lil Grey too good for the boys in Curragh opener
I thought when I put her in this race 'Sheila you're not making life easy on her putting her in against all these colts',. She's only worked once, she hadn't worked before she ran the last time in Leopardstown and then I brought her to the Curragh. Robbie was riding Lady Kaya, not that she worked with her, but she worked in a group behind her. She was still green when she picked up and went past the horses. I thought I'd put her in and see because I love running horses at the Curragh. I thought the ground would be beautiful and thought if she came out and won you'd have to put an entry in for the Albany so I will put an entry in now and we'll see. She's been away and done swingers and had a racecourse gallop but she's only been asked to pick up and go past a horse once. I know she comes in and jog-jogs around but that's just her. She's not jig-jogging because she's gone in her brain. She jig-jogs in from the gallop. The Grassicks bred her in Newtown Stud and Cathy Grassick said the mother was like that too. She's just taken everything so well.
Lope Y Fernandez leads home 1, 2, 3 for O'Brien
You'd be delighted with him. They are three lovely horses,. Seamie was very happy with his horse and Wayne was very happy as well. The winner could be a Chesham horse and so could the other two. I'd say the winner is nice, he picked up well and travelled well throughout the race. Donnacha was very happy with him.
Micro destroys handicap rivals on return to action
Progressive Soffia takes Ballyogan honours
It was probably a combination of jockey being right and trainer being right,. I wanted to go for this, Declan said she was getting quicker now and five was her best trip. We might have been both right. I think maybe five is her best trip now. I know we won so we got away with it. She was gutsy and in fairness I'd say the runner-up's best trip is seven and that was a help. She's just kept improving. She started off winning a maiden here, tipped along, and has just got better and better. She's owned by a very nice woman (Lady O'Reilly) and trained by a very nice fella!. I'll make an entry for the Flying Five and make an entry for the Sapphire. Declan is mad keen for me to go to England. He thinks she'd love England. I know those English sprints and know how good you have to be. She's won a Group 3 and won a Listed. She's not going to Royal Ascot or anything like that. I think we've a good enough program here, we didn't use to have it. We've the Sapphire on Oaks weekend and the Flying Five. When you've won a Listed and Group 3 you are just trying to raise their CV that little bit more. I can dream - I'm good at dreaming!
Gold for Guaranteed in the Silver Stakes
He stayed at it well,. He took a while to build up to it as a two-year-old as well. I think he can step up in trip and you could possibly see him back here in three weeks time.
Boost claims nice pot on first handicap run
I kind of did it backwards, when she was placed the last day in the Listed race she went up 10lb,. Billy (Lee) was keen to ride her but I said 'she'd have 9-10 there, I'll have to take some weight off because she's only a small filly'. Nathan is riding well and gave her a lovely ride. She quickened up nicely and when the horses came to her she quickened again. We'll probably go to Ayr for a three-year-old only fillies race there on the 22nd. The Land O'Burns Stakes.
Compensation for Clarinet as Donnacha completes treble
She was probably due one of them because she was unlucky here on Guineas weekend,. She's a grand straight-forward filly and it's nice to get a win with her. Donnacha said a stiff six is good for her, so we'll keep her to that, and look for something similar again. She's a nice consistent sprint handicapper and we'll be able to keep her busy for the summer, hopefully. I think she's a little bit better on a straight track but other than that she's very versatile.
