Breeze-up filly makes winning debut for McGuinness
Chocquinto lands her second career success
She's a real sprinter and the track just suited her. It wasn't a shock when she won in the Curragh last summer but she didn't progress from it. She got a bit weak and we gave her a break. She came back stronger but was slow away in her races. She was a bit slow away again today but we have done plenty of work with her and, if she breaks, she can be competitive. She is in Cork next week under a penalty and we'll see what the handicapper does.
Time And Money pays off in Down Royal
He has been a horse that has been a wee bit frustrating to place more than anything else. After coming back this year we just didn't get the opportunity; we wanted to step him up in trip and there was just nothing available, so it was a big step up from a mile to a mile and a half but he got it well.
Harrington filly wins easily under Foley
Better luck this time for Keane on Sheishybrid
She was unlucky in Sligo, she got a couple of pounds for it even though she only finished third. He (Colin Keane) said that is as far as she needs to go. She liked the fast ground. It probably wasn't the most competitive race in the world but it was nice to win. There will be plenty of races for her. She'll go for another handicap and we'll see how we go and we'll see what the handicapper does. She is bred by (starter) Joey Banahan (who sent the runners on their way by flag after the earlier stalls malfunction) and she is out of a mare that he has had. She is related to a very fast horse that was in Hong Kong who was kind of a world champion. She is also related to The Big Orange so she has stamina as well as speed in the pedigree. We bought her half-brother just after Christmas so hopefully we have something coming along.
