Claimer king McAuley gets quick return on Inflection Point
To be honest, I actually thought that he might have been able to beat Tai (Sing Yeh) last week so if you are wary of them beating you, you might as well take them! John had him fit last week and he only rode out Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We don't know much about him. I'd say probably going good and hard in front, with Tai and that, probably helped him. No (probably wouldn't want to lose him), but I've had worse weeks - six grand in a week. Nobody went for him last week, if someone wants to go for him this week so be it. He looked a little bit like me, he looked a little bit ungenuine up the straight! If someone wants to roll the dice, it has been a good week. There are more races to be won with Tai Sing Yeh, we've been busy with him and it's probably telling now. We tend to know when they cry enough and they get a couple of weeks off so we won't panic about him.
Almendares scores in style for the Slatterys
Lovely performance today, he was only about 70 per cent ready the last day. He actually came to win the race the last day and Andrew said he just blew up. Today even looked a better race and he bossed it. A fair effort from stall 16 and he won very impressively. You could call him the winner turning into the straight. He'll have no bother staying seven (furlongs), he powered up the straight and Andrew said he had plenty of horse left. He loves the sound surface. Onwards and upwards.

Alex is very, very good in those amateur races. I thought he would run a big race. He has been a horse that has caused us a lot of headaches since we got him. I don't bet, but I lost money on him in his first bumper! That's how much he showed us. Obviously, he likes the surface and we just have him in a good vein of form. He was just too slow for a mile and a half. Funny just before the race, I looked up Lingfield on Good Friday and there's a two-mile race. We might bring a few boxes (Mulgrave) and put him in. He is unexposed and it wouldn't be a bad shout. He'll love the surface and travels like a dream. He is entitled to have a crack at it but might not get into it. He's still green and that is the first time he has got his head in front. He carries his head high but that is a little bit typical of the sire. They are talented animals.

Might And Mercy strikes for Meade and Keane
She's a nice filly. She is a little bit quirky when she gets there, she parks a little bit. She has loads of ability and she has a great cruising speed. We were sort of thinking maybe she would go a mile, but I think seven is probably far enough. Colin was even saying you could maybe go back to six. She is bred quick on the dad's side. She was an incredible price.

She was a bit unlucky this filly last year and then she probably got a high enough handicap mark. She was finishing second and third and was running solidly, but just not winning. Cian gave her a smashing ride tonight. She ran well the last day here and she wasn't overly ready. I knew she would improve a lot after the last day and it told there tonight. The boys are thrilled to bits, they are long-standing with me - Mark (Devlin) is with me a long time.
